The aim of the exhibition is to bring a new interpretive view of the past of art in the public space of Košice. It responds to the revived interest, especially of the generation born after 1989, in this art, resp. efforts to recapture its quality and, ultimately, to protect it. The project works with imaginative appropriation of specific works from the period of 60-80 years of the last century and their reinterpretation or reconstruction in new contexts.

BODY, FORM AND GESTURE - SCULPTURE IN THE ESG COLLECTION

The exhibition represents the focus of the project for the year 2020. The sculptural collection of the gallery has not yet been presented in a larger gallery exposition. For this reason too, the curatorial concept is focused exclusively on the medium of sculpture, sculpture and installation.

EVA MOFLÁROVÁ - The HEM

A retrospective exhibition of painter and sculptor Eva Moflárová presents a selection of works from her previous work representing universal themes of knowledge and growth of personality. The hem represents a unifying element, we find it explicitly in linear gestures, but it also works metaphorically as a boundary on various levels, limiting the human being, living within safe boundaries, opening or closing to others.
