The State Hall of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic hosted on 17 June 2019 the celebratory award for the title The Museum of 2018 and the announcement of the results of the Andrej Kmeť Award. The title of the best museum of 2018 was awarded to the Bratislava City Museum and the prestigious Award of Andrej Kmeť was presented to 6 renowned personalities from the sphere of museums, galleries and folklore. Among these was a former long-term employee of the East Slovak Gallery, the curator and art historian Mgr. Helena Němcová. The awards were presented by the Minister of Culture, Ľubica Laššáková.
